You might have guessed by now that I'm a bit of a Dr.Who fan. In 1995 I had the good fortune to be able to travel back to England (Home). During my visit with family the topic of collectables arose, I happened to mention I'd like a full size Dalek and the next thing I know we're over at my cousins house looking at one. Well this isn't one of the props used on the show it's a Kiddie ride, you know the kind of thing where the child sits inside and puts a coin in the slot to make it roll around.

The Dalek was manufactured by Edwin Hall & Co and distributed by Edward Saville Amusements in 1965 (I think). It has an eight track cassette player with the original tape of sound effects, which I believe were taken from the second Peter cushing Dr.Who movie "Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD". It also contains all of the circuitry which operates the timer, lights and tape deck. Apparently only about 40 to 50 were made. The one I have was salvaged from a truck load of 20 which were heading for the tip. How many of the others survived I have no idea.

Since I got the beastie home it's been completely stripped and all of the existing chrome parts have been replated. I have remanufactured the gun, sucker arm and the metal strips which surrond the neck and have made moulds of the bumps. The moulds are to be used for vacuum forming the plastic covers which will be gold chrome plated and glued on the bumps. The only other parts I have to make are the pivots for the guns and the rounded pieces which sit either side of the guns on the front.

I would appreciate any info on parts for this machine. I would really like to replace the remanufactured parts with originals where possible. I had seen another one in England but the owner refused to sell (understandable I guess). It had all the pieces I need and was missing a lot of the pieces I have.
